Onsite had the delightful chance of speaking with Patricia Williams, famously known as Ms. Pat, on her weekly court show,
“Ms. Pat Settles It.”
A true multi-talented powerhouse, Ms. Pat talked about family, her approach to achieving work-life balance, and reflected on the success of The Ms. Pat Show on BET+. She also gave us a glimpse into her aspirations for the future of
“Ms. Pat Settles It.”
This star-studded series has welcomed a variety of celebrity guests to help tackle some bizarre cases. Viewers can look forward to appearances from notable names like Ray J, Karlous Miller, Tamar Braxton, and Deray Davis, promising an entertaining mix of perspectives and humor. However, Ms. Pat revealed that her ultimate dream guest would be the iconic comedic legend Katt Williams.
“I would love for Katt Williams to have an opinion on some of these cases,”
she said as she laughed reflecting on the thought.
“These Cases Are Real”
When asked about the true authenticity of these cases presented before her, Ms. Pat settled the rumors herself, declaring that every case is based on real-life stories.
“The cases are real, the people are real, and it’s just comedy put behind it,”
she explained.
“I wanted to create a judge show that wouldn’t be so boring… I thank BET for allowing me to put a little laughter back into the court room,”
she added.
“They’re cases but why can’t they be fun.”
Although she sits in the position of a judge, Ms. Pat is a comedian, so it’s only right she brings you laughs during her deliberations. She is also an author, radio host, podcaster, and actress and with all that being said she still finds ways to maintain a healthy work-life balance by keeping her loved ones close by. The Emmy nominated comedian revealed that her kids work alongside her.
“My kids work with me so I spend a lot of time with them and my husband is just at the house,”
she said.
“I have a couple of assistants that help keep me in line and that’s how I juggle all the things you see me do everyday.”
Ms. Pat has secured an exciting multi-genre overall deal with Paramount Global, allowing her to produce, write, and perform in new projects across all platforms. Her hit series,
“The Ms. Pat Show,”
based on her journey from inner-city drug dealer to suburban mom, has resonated with fans and critics alike. Produced by Lee Daniels and Brian Graze, the show has earned Emmy nominations for
“Outstanding Direction for a Comedy Series”
in 2022, 2023, and 2024, positioning Ms. Pat for even greater success ahead!
“I want everybody to know that Ms. Pat Show is on a third Emmy nomination, so I’ll be at the Emmy’s this year. Hoping and praying three times is the charm”
