Popular content creator Holli was at Hot 97’s Summer Jam this year. During the event, he spoke with Onsite! about his music, particularly the Julio song. Holli became unresponsive when the conversation shifted to payment for the song and pleaded the Fifth. The interview follows the release of the content creator’s song nine months ago, promoting the Don Julio brand.
Holli Refuses To Confirm if He Was Paid for Julio Song
Onsite! Caught up with Holli at Hot 97’s Summer Jam this year to discuss the content creator’s work. During the interview, the outlet mentioned that he “really elevated Don Julio,” the tequila brand, in his 2024 song, Julio.
“Did Don Julio cut a check?” Onsite!’s correspondent, Niara Johnson asked.
However, Holli was reluctant to answer the question and turned away from the microphone. After a friend repeatedly advised him to “plead the Fifth,” Holli responded, “What I look like?” and pleaded the Fifth. “I look like I’m hungry?” he asked Onsite!’s correspondent to deflect from answering the question.

Holli is a content creator popular for his comedy skits on TikTok. He goes by the name Hollitv. The Brooklyn native, born Diallo Duke, has also built a substantial fan base on Instagram, with over 320,000 followers. In 2024, he released the track Julio, promoting Don Julio’s tequila in it.
The entertainer also gave out 30 small Don Julio bottles. Hence, several people wondered if the content creator had been paid for his song and if it was an official promotional song. Holli’s other works include Don All Night, Tragic, and Don Ding.
Holli has led several promotional efforts for Don Julio tequila. In April, he posted an Instagram video of himself getting a tattoo of a Don Julio bottle on his forehead. However, it turned out to be a temporary one. The following month, he posed with a bottle of Don Julio on his head within a carousel of photos showing him having fun with friends. In one of the clips in the slides, Holli wore a Don Julio bottle neck chain.
Fans React to Holli’s Response
Fans commented on Onsite!’s post showing Holli’s lack of response to the payment question. Many opined that Don Julio didn’t pay the content creator. A TikTok user said, “They aint give him a penny.” A second person agreed, saying, “Not a dollar.
However, some suggested Don Julio paid Holli with drinks. Someone remarked, “They gave him the Popeyes x don Julio collab meal.” Another person said, “They offered him souvenirs… he accepted.” A user, John Doe, shared, “They anit pay him nothing !! Like just a couple bottles.”
Meanwhile, another user suggested that Don Julio didn’t reward Holli appropriately. They said his song, Julio, led to a collaboration for which he was not rewarded. The user wrote, “Bro literally influenced them to collab with Popeyes and all they did was send him a free bottle .”Holli’s several promotional efforts haven’t gone unnoticed by fans. Many wonder whether Don Julio paid him to promote the brand or if he genuinely loves it. However, the popular content creator has refused to clarify the situation.
