A magistrate judge in Pennsylvania, Sonya McKnight, was convicted of attempted homicide and aggravated assault for shooting her ex-boyfriend, Michael McCoy, in the head as he slept on Feb. 10, 2024.

According to CBS News, McCoy survived and testified that McKnight was the only person in the home at the time.

Prosecutors described her as a jealous ex who refused to leave after their breakup.

McKnight had been a Dauphin County judge since 2016 and was suspended in 2023 for a prior misconduct case.

She also previously shot her estranged husband in 2019 but wasn’t charged due to self-defense.

McKnight now faces up to 60 years in prison, with sentencing set for May 28.
