A New Jersey man is facing charges for performing dental work without a license and for allegedly sexually assaulting a patient during an appointment, according to the Essex County prosecutors, per PIX 11.
On Monday, police responded to a 911 call about a sexual assault at a location in Fairfield. The woman claimed that her dentist had assaulted her.
The dentist, 31-year-old Jonathan Colombo, offered discounted dental veneers and promoted them on social media using the Instagram accounts
“newyoudental” and “newyousmiles,”
according to the prosecutors.
The woman told police that she saw Colombo’s online ads offering dental veneers at a discounted rate. They communicated through social media and agreed on a price. She then scheduled an appointment with him on October 14 at his office in Fairfield. Prosecutors said that after the procedure, Colombo sexually assaulted her.
His name is not listed on the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs list of licensed dentists. He has been charged with practicing dentistry without a license, according to court records. It is unclear what charges, if any, he would face related to the alleged sexual assault. The investigation is still ongoing.
