Pittsburgh Woman Arrested For Luring Young Boys With $5 To Shovel Show, Then Getting Them Drunk and Allegedly Assaulting One

Rochelle Stewart: Allegheny County Jail

A 64-year-old #Pittsburgh woman has been arrested after allegedly providing alcohol to two young boys and attempting to sexually assault one of them. The incident occurred after the boys offered to shovel snow from her walkway for payment.

According to a criminal complaint obtained by CBS Pittsburgh, the boys, aged 12 and 13, were walking along Windgap Avenue on January 8, offering to shovel snow for money.

The woman, identified as Rochelle Stewart, agreed to pay them $5 for their work. After they completed the task, Stewart allegedly invited them inside her home for hot chocolate but instead provided them with alcohol. One of the boys reported that Stewart continued to refill his glass with vodka multiple times, leading to his intoxication.

The boys told police that once they were inside, Stewart offered them alcohol, which they consumed. One of the boys claimed that Stewart sat next to him, placed her leg over his, and touched him inappropriately. The other boy recorded a video of the incident, which was later provided to the authorities.

The boys left the residence but returned shortly after realizing one had forgotten his coat inside. At this point, Stewart called 911, reporting a burglary in progress. When police arrived, they found the boys outside, exhibiting signs of intoxication. Stewart initially denied that the boys had been inside her home, but officers found the forgotten coat on her couch and a half-empty bottle of vodka.

Stewart was arrested and charged with indecent assault, corruption of minors, and providing false reports to law enforcement. She was taken to the #Allegheny County Jail and later released on $1,000 bail. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for January 22.

The boys were safely returned to their homes after police contacted their mothers.
