Demetria Spence has been arrested for transmitting a false public alarm that led to Young Scooter’s death on March 28. Police arrested the Zeus Baddies star a day after releasing the 911 calls related to the incident. Spence called to report a violent attack on a woman in the presence of a child and several gunshots. Young Scooter, born Kenneth Edward Rashaad Bailey, died after reportedly fleeing from officers responding to the call.
Demetria Spence Arrested After Young Scooter’s Death
Atlanta Police has arrested and charged Demetria Spence with raising a false alarm that led to Young Scooter’s death. After a four-day search, they took the ZeusBaddies star into custody at the Fulton County Jail. Onsite obtained the Atlanta Police Department’s statement about the arrest, which read:
“On April 1st, 2025, 31-year-old Demetria Spence was taken into custody by the Atlanta Police Department and charged with transmitting a False Public Alarm under O.C.G.A. 16-10-28, subsection (d)(2) ‘If serious bodily harm or death results from the response of a public safety agency.’ Ms. Spence was wanted for her involvement in making a false 911 call regarding a person injured/deceased incident that occurred at 273 William Nye Drive SE on March 28th, 2025.
Authorities announced Spence’s arrest shortly after the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office revealed the preliminary cause of Young Scooter’s death. However, Her motives for calling 911 are currently unknown.
Demetria Spence’s 911 Call Released
Police released the 911 call that led to Young Scooter’s death the day before Demetria Spence’s arrest. Per FOX 5, the caller alleged physical assault on a woman at 273 William Nye Drive South East Atlanta. “He’s beating her bloody. He’s dragged her back in the house,” she said, describing herself as part of a neighborhood watch. “There was literally a shooting… literally the neighbors next door, the house of the address that I just gave you, the 273. There is literally a whole domestic dispute going on.”
“There’s like seven guys that live in this house,” she continued. The caller also claimed several armed men were inside the house. She added that they were involved in potential drug activity and possible sex trafficking. The caller described the victim as a light-skinned female with black hair, approximately 5-foot-3 and 130 pounds, who was forced back into the house.
“She ran outside naked, and then he was fighting her outside. She tried to get away. He dragged her back in the house… she’s being held hostage…This situation is really serious, and he’s punching her. If you guys don’t get here, she’s going to be really hurt.” the caller continued, adding that she heard three gunshots. “They’re definitely doing illegal stuff over there, and it’s disturbing the area,” she told 911. “You guys need to hurry and get here before she… doesn’t make it,” she concluded.
Demetria Spence Lies About 911 Call
Meanwhile, Demetria Spence has switched her statement about the 911 call that contributed to Young Scooter’s death. She was not physically present at the incident scene and initially reported someone else as the victim. However, after Young Scooter’s death, Spence claimed to be the victim. She said those who thought she set the rapper up misunderstood her, and she only called to save her life.
“I’m giving you what led up to the call. I was physically abused, so I called to protect myself. That’s the issue; that’s part A. I never had any intentions to get anybody hurt. I was the one that was getting hurt, and I came here to say my truth. That’s it. That’s all; I don’t want no clout…At the end of the day, I’m a woman, and I was physically abused multiple times,” the reality TV star said.
Young Sccoter’s Death Under Investigation
Atlanta Police are also investigating the Young Scooter’s death. The rapper died at 39 after he reportedly ran from officers who responded to Demetria Spence’s 911 call. A man reportedly opened the door briefly after officers knocked at the house before closing it immediately. Police also surrounded the home while two people tried to run.
Officers identified the man who jumped two fences and was found injured nearby as Young Scooter. They took him to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he later died. Preliminary reports stated that the injuries led to Young Scooter’s death.
Meanwhile, Young Scooter’s death has been a shock to many, especially as the rapper passed away on his birthday. His family has released a statement, thanking fans for their support and expressing distraught at the void from his death.
