During a routine drive home, a woman found herself in a terrifying situation when her car suddenly caught fire, per WSBTV. Shauna Hervey, also known as Mama K-Camp and the mother of Atlanta rapper K-Camp, was traveling with a friend on I-20 near Panola on a Friday afternoon when her GPS unexpectedly redirected them off the interstate onto Glenwood Road.

Usually ignoring her GPS requests, Hervey decided to follow its instructions this time.

As she continued along the new route, she began to notice other drivers honking and attempting to get her attention. It wasn’t until she eventually pulled over on Glenwood Road that a kind stranger approached her and alerted her that her car was in flames.

“He drove up on the side and was like ‘Yo, your car’s on fire,’”

Hervey said. She immediately got out of her 2020 BMW X6 and saw the fire.

“I’m screaming to my friend in there, ‘Get out the car. It’s on fire! Get out the car!’”

she said. Not too long after she and her friend escaped the vehicle, the car went up in flames and exploded. Hervey to Tom Jones from Channel 2 Action News that she is extremely grateful for the man who alerted her.

“I got to thank him. I gotta thank him because he saved our life,”

she said.

According to Hervey, the firefighters arrived swiftly, but unfortunately, her car was completely destroyed by the fire. They informed her that the fire spread rapidly due to a possible problem with the gas line, and she is currently in contact with BMW. Hervey’s friend faced difficulty breathing and took some time to exit the car, but luckily, both of them managed to escape without any injuries.
