Remains Of Missing Texas Woman Believed To Be In Her 60s Was Discovered Inside Alligator’s Jaws

Authorities have discovered the corpse of a missing Texas woman, assumed to be in her 60s, in the mouth of an alligator at Horsepen Bayou. The Houston Police Department confirmed the incident, according to PEOPLE

During a search for a missing woman, officers discovered her remains. To protect the remains, a police sergeant fatally shot the alligator. The investigation into the woman’s identity and demise is ongoing. Alligators are known to inhabit the area. 

Angela Derous told KTRK-TV,

“I know which banks to stay away from and where they like to lay in the sun.” 

“That’s the first time I’ve heard of that happening down here. It’s a little scary,”

Derous continued.
