Rod Wave’s lawyers are pushing back following the rapper’s recent arrest in Atlanta last week, insisting that he did nothing wrong. According to CBS News Atlanta, the Florida native’s attorneys — Drew Findling, Zach Findling, and Marissa Goldberg — have even made serious claims against the Atlanta Police Department, saying officers unfairly profiled their client.

The attorneys told the station that the 27-year-old was

“unjustly profiled and unlawfully arrested in Atlanta.”

They also claim the Atlanta Police Department Crime Suppression Unit operates with a

“quota-driven”

mindset when making arrests.

“We look forward to vigorously challenging this baseless arrest and the clear violations of Mr. Green’s rights in court,”

they said.

Right now, there are no details about when Rod Wave will appear in court regarding the incident.

The arrest happened on Friday, November 7, on Howell Mill Road. Police say they pulled the artist over after he allegedly ran a stop sign. During the stop, officers claimed they found suspected marijuana, other controlled substances, and a firearm.

The Grammy-nominated rapper was charged with possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain felonies, possession of Schedule II and Schedule V controlled substances, and reckless driving. He was released on bail the next day, spending about 24 hours in Fulton County Jail.
