Russell Simmons Claims Irv Gotti Is On Life Support
According to Russell Simmons, Irv Gotti, famed for signing DMX, Ja Rule, and Ashanti, is on life support. He confirmed the rumors of Gotti’s ill health on Wednesday, February 5, with a post on his Instagram. He wrote:
“Irv Gotti on life support. Friends and family saying their goodbyes.”
In his caption, Simmons also shed light on what might have caused Gotti’s decline.
“Praying for Irvs full recovery such a fun inspired good hearted person,” the entrepreneur stated.
“Such a beloved person people keep up the prayers. To the people my age and younger, we are seeing the effects of toxic food and a toxic environment. Pray for our brother and try to make the necessary changes in your and your familes diets and lifestyles.”
Irv Gotti has been battling diabetes for many years. Presumably, this may have led to him being placed on life support.
Irv Gotti Planned To Tackle Diabetes Before Life Support Incident
Onsite obtained and posted a second update from Russell Simmons on Instagram. In the post, Simmons revealed that Irv Gotti was going to treat his diabetes using natural means before he was placed on life support. The record executive shared that Gotti was “incredibly energetic and optimistic” when they talked recently. After their discussion, Simmons worried about Gotti’s health and asked him to consider visiting him in Bali for “natural and medical treatments,” which Gotti promised to do.
“I promised him that if he came, I would guarantee that he add 20 years to his life… He never got to come,” Simmons lamented. He added, “This is all so disturbing… so many of my friends are at risk… American food, lack of exercise and the toxic, frantic environment is killing my friends one after another. Today, Ia’m praying for Irv and all black men my age and under. They are poisoning you… Please pay attention,” he concluded with a red heart emoji.
Irv Gotti Had a Stroke
Fans and friends of the hip-hop producer are worried after the latest update from Russell Simmons. Their fear is exacerbated by the fact that he had a stroke six months ago because of his diabetes. Irv Gotti’s diabetes has caused serious health complications for years and has now led to another stroke, causing him to be on life support. After his last stroke half a year ago, his team confirmed that he suffered a minor stroke but said he was recovering. His rep added that he was home with his family and not in a center.
Pictures of him at the time showed he had lost weight and needed a walking stick. However, the 54-year-old record producer himself assured fans he was okay and improving. He acknowledged his mistake of not taking his insulin consistently but promised that he had started watching his diet and monitoring his glucose. Therefore, the latest news of him being on life support shocked many.
In the meantime, Irv Gotti’s family and representatives have not confirmed his condition or given an official statement. Hopefully, he will pull through this. We wish the family great comfort in this trying time.
