Zoe Oli (Beautiful Curly Me)

On Monday, 12-year-old Zoe Oli and her mom Evana sent out an S.O.S. on social media, alarming their customers that their business has been affected by the unexpected closure of their Wells Fargo business accounts.

“This is really disheartening and unacceptable,” said Zoe in a video she posted on Instagram. “As a small product-based business we need cash to operate, we have vendors and bills to pay constantly, why should Wells Fargo close our accounts and hold our money?”

Zoe has made national headlines on Good Morning America, ABC News and even in People Magazine, about her brand “which empowers young Black and brown girls with products designed to boost confidence and promote self-love.”

Evana says her business won’t see the funds will be returned by cashier’s check in 15 days by mail.

The small business owners say Wells Fargo hasn’t been much help either. They reportedly said the accounts were closed because there was no physical address on file, which Evana says is false.

Zoe and her mom are asking for help by shopping directly from their website. Shoppers are encouraged to use the promo code SUPPORT20 at checkout on BeautifulCurlyMe.com to get 20% off all purchases and help them during this difficult time for their Black-owned business.
