On Friday night, a Southwest Airlines plane was hit by a bullet just before taking off from Dallas Love Field airport in Texas. The flight, which was headed for Indianapolis, returned to the gate, and passengers safely exited the aircraft following the shocking encounter. Fortunately, there were no injuries, and the plane was grounded, according to the New York Post.
A spokesperson from Southwest said,
“Southwest Airlines Flight 2494 was set to depart for Indianapolis when a bullet apparently struck the right side of the plane, just below the flight deck, as the crew was preparing for takeoff.”
Officials in Dallas later responded to the shooting close to 9:50 p.m
