Suspect Arrested After Police Chase Ends In Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash, Leaving One Dead and Others Injured

California records the death of a woman following a rather unfortunate car crash during a police chase in Winnetka, LA. The suspect has now been charged with vehicular homicide.

Per KTLA5, on Saturday, the city’s police tailed a suspicious driver in a Mercedes SUV. The man who is notably around 40 sped up upon noticing the cops. This initiated an intense car chase as police followed the vehicle closely. Soon, it dived to the South of Mason Avenue and later into the intersection of Saticoy Street.

Unfortunately, the suspect crashed into a Tesla car in the Winnetka neighborhood. LAPD Deputy Chief Don Graham confirmed that the traffic lights signaled movement for those from the east and west. However, the accident occurred as the Mercedes SUV moved speedily ramming into the Tesla. Consequently, the Tesla hit two other cars colored black and silver after which the suspect was apprehended.

But unfortunately, the damage could not be undone. Following the accident, the drivers of the two cars hit by the Tesla sustained injuries. Meanwhile, the Tesla Driver, a woman, died on the spot. As for the suspect, he was also injured but was taken to the hospital with the others.

Residents of the neighborhood confessed their shock. Maria Toribio condemned the action, adding that it was a bad situation. She told a KTLA reporter that the crash would be unforgettable following the sound people heard.

Police Chief. Graham also sympathized with the family, echoing Toribio’s sentiment. According to Graham, this was due to the timing which is so close to the holidays. As for the suspect of the alleged stolen Mercedes SUV, he’s now charged with vehicular homicide.
