On Christmas Eve, a suspect attacked a man and a woman separately at Grand Central-42nd Street Station, officials said. The attacker initially cut a 42-year-old man’s left wrist following a verbal disagreement around 10:15 p.m, the New York Post.

The suspect then went up the stairs, argued with a 26-year-old woman, and slashed her neck close to a turnstile, sources say.

The victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital, both in stable condition. Following the second attack, the suspect escaped up an escalator. Bystanders informed officials, leading to his arrest, and a knife was discovered.

The NYPD stated they have a person of interest in custody, but no charges have been made yet. Sources say the suspect has been arrested three times before for various offenses including “assaulting a police officer.”
