Angela Rye Gets Candid About The Time Her Former Colleague Chris Cuomo Sent

Angela Rye, a political commentator and attorney, has accused her former CNN colleague Chris Cuomo of inappropriate behavior. During an episode of her podcast on iHeart, she hinted that he also contributed to her departure from the network. She recounted that back in 2021, Cuomo allegedly sent her a troubling text message about her bikini, which altered their work relationship.

During the first episode of her podcast Native Land Pod, Angela Rye, along with Tiffany Cross and Andrew Gillum, opened up about the distressing incident. Rye described it as one of the most humiliating experiences she has ever faced.

    The political commentator recounted,

“It all began on New Year’s Day [2021] when I posted a picture of myself looking forward to the New Year in a gold sequin bikini on Instagram.”

    Rye continue,

“Cuomo screen-shot the image and said, ‘Happy New Year, tinsel crotch.’ Stunned, I read and reread the message a dozen times, trying to understand if I somehow brought this on myself … I teared up, like now, and then the tears flowed, I felt like the safest place I had on a show on CNN had been compromised.”

It’s not surprising that Rye’s accusations against Cuomo are not the first. He has previously been accused of similar behavior in the past.

Rye mentioned that she didn’t reply to Cuomo’s remark about her bikini, and later he texted her again with an idea for his show. However, she questioned the sincerity of the idea because it came after the disturbing text exchange.

    She later asked him,

“if he still wanted to discuss his work idea despite him mentioning tinsel bikini and tinsel bottom along the way.”

Rye revealed that on Jan. 21, 2021, CNN notified her that they would not be renewing her contract. When questioned about whether the incident with Cuomo led to her termination, Rye responded to her podcast co-hosts, saying,

“I don’t know if [he had me fired] or not, but that is certainly what I believe now.”

During the podcast episode, she mentioned that Cuomo, who currently works for NewsNation, contacted her last year from a different number and inquired if she was still upset about his bikini remark.

    She expressed,

“I was, but I was really mad at myself. I was mad at myself for not saying anything sooner because I was lacking courage and preferring my financial well-being over my mental health, not standing up for women, who are often left powerless.”

What We Know About Common’s Dating History — Story So Far…

Celebrity gossip news is sensational to fans this includes their careers, dating history, and family life, and Common is not an exception. Despite his oath of secrecy, somehow, news concerning his personal life gets into the media thanks to the sleuthing eyes of celebrity blogs. Nonetheless, Common also deserves some of the accolades, as he has hinted a bit about his lifestyle via his memoir and interviews. So, what are all the details worth knowing about the Oscar winner who has never been married?

    Common’s Dating History

He is handsome, classy, with exceptional charm, yet the Happy Feet actor hasn’t had too many women on his list. Common’s dating history dates back to the early 90s when he was with Kim Jones. The pair never got married, but they cemented their bond with the inclusion of a daughter, Omoye Assata Lynn. However, before Lynn could learn how to talk, her parents separated.

In his Let Love Have the Last Word memoir, Common referenced his relationship with his daughter, explaining that he was not a part of her childhood. The rapper later told People:

“It’s the typical thing you hear about with two parents who are splitting up, especially young. That love is obviously there. But it’s like sometimes I wasn’t able to have as much access and without that we couldn’t build the strongest relationship.”

    Common And Erykah Badu

Following his fallout with Jones, Common moved on with Erykah Badu. These two were in sync in their hearts and careers. They connected on a musical level and went on to produce a few tracks, including Jimi Was a Rock Star. Despite the synergy, their romance lasted for only two years. It was not until years after their separation that Common shared their dating history.

In an honest tone, the rapper claimed that he was hazed, adding that “it wasn’t her fault, the relationship just didn’t go forward.”

Common and Taraji P. Henson’s Dating History

Next on the list is Taraji P. Henson, and as we already know Common, their romance was not common knowledge. It began in 2005. The duo was together for so long that the Acrimony actress tagged it her “last real long-term relationship.” Even as exes, they supported each other and never faulted the other party.

Common and the Queen of Court

The actor was with Serena Williams for two years. They kicked off in 2007 and ended things in 2010. Neither Common nor the tennis star opened up about the romance until things fell apart. But somehow, they were able to manage their friendship and went on to collaborate on two projects —in 2016 and 2018.

Common’s Dating History With Angela Rye

Angela Rye, a political analyst, was with Common for about a year. After their 2018 split, they got back together in 2019, but it only lasted for some months. Surprisingly, the on-and-off romance has not been a venue for them to make controversial statements. The duo have accepted that they might not be compatible enough.

Common’s dating history list also includes Kerry Washington and Jennifer Hudson. Interestingly, Hudson maintains that they are friends who only worked on the soon-to-debut film Breathe.

Angela Rye Delivers ‘Fact-Check’ On Sexyy Red’s Comments About Black People Supporting Donald Trump, Says ‘I Would Invite You To Look Into His Record’

Angela Rye has responded to Sexyy Red‘s public endorsement of Donald Trump by presenting evidence of his past actions, which she reveals were racially discriminatory. Rye is urging Black Americans who back the former president’s 2024 presidential campaign to educate themselves about his track record.

“To Sexyy Red and everyone else who’s found themselves in the camp for ‘Blacks for Trump,’ I would invite you to look into his record,”

Rye said in videos posted on X (fka Twitter).

“I would invite you to look beyond barbershop conversation, people who are just shooting a breeze — or as some people say, shooting the sh*t.”

“If that’s what you’re gonna do, let at least the sh*t be facts. Let it at least be fact-checked,”

    she added.

“Let it at least be associated with his actual record. When you look and see what Donald Trump actually accomplished for Black people, are you satisfied with that?”

Rye highlighted a number of instances where Trump has been

    “egregious”

towards the Black community. One of these instances was the case of the Central Park Five, who were later exonerated and renamed the Exonerated Five. She also mentioned Trump’s questioning of former president Barack Obama’s citizenship during his presidential campaign.

In 1989, the ex-president took out full-page newspaper ads advocating for the death penalty on five, Black teenage boys after a Central Park jogger was assaulted. Five innocent Black men, Korey Wise, 51; Kevin Richardson, 48; Raymond Santana, 49; Antron McCray, 49; and Yusef Salaam, 49, were wrongly convicted, and later exonerated. In 2019, Trump declined to apologize for his remarks.

“You have people on both sides of that,”

he said, according to The New York Times.

    “They admitted their guilt.”

    Rye also spoke about

    “Birtherism,”

which was enacted during Barack Obama’s run for presidency in 2008, spearheaded by Donald Trump which accused the 44th president of not being a natural-born citizen of the United States. Rye posted a video in response to Sexyy Red’s comments to which she mentioned that black people support Donald Trump on Theo Von’s

    “This Past Weekend”

    podcast last week.

“Yeah, they support him in the hood… Once he started getting black people out of jail and giving people their free money, oh baby we love Trump. We need to get him back in office.”
