A prisoner who managed to flee from the Kauai Community Correctional Center in Hawaii was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident shortly after his escape, reports Fox News.

A prisoner who managed to flee from the Kauai Community Correctional Center in Hawaii was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run incident shortly after his escape, reports Fox News. The inmate, identified as Matthew J. Ornellas Jr., escaped around 1 a.m., according to the Hawaii Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Moments later, while running along Kuhio Highway, he was hit by a vehicle. Correctional officers discovered Ornellas approximately 100 yards from the jail, where he suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.  Currently, he remains in serious condition and under police custody.  The driver of the vehicle fled the scene before authorities arrived, and a search is underway to locate them. Ornellas had escaped by scaling a fence topped with razor wire. He was serving a sentence for the promotion of dangerous drugs, as stated by the Hawaii Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation spokesperson, Rosemarie Bernardo. According to their website, “Hawaii’s correctional facilities are aging. This hinders the Department of Corrections & Rehabilitation’s ability to carry out our vision. A Georgia woman made a startling discovery when she found a wanted bank robber fast asleep in her home in the middle of the night, per WSBTV.  Gwynne Ketcham of Mountain Park had been closely following the news of the extensive manhunt for James Raborn, the suspected bank robber, for several days. Raborn was accused of robbing a bank in Roswell, engaging in a high-speed police chase, crashing his truck, and fleeing into a nearby residential area. Raborn broke into Ketcham’s house through a window and hid himself in her home office while she was away. Unaware of the unexpected visitor, Ketcham returned home and went to bed. She went to her husband’s office to check on their cats and encountered the fugitive. The door was blocked so she, “reached in and turned on the light and saw his legs, turned off the light, and left,” Ketcham said. “Something you never expect to see in your house.” Ketcham immediately left her home and contacted the authorities. “They discovered he used a computer in my house, and they had gotten a ping from that and the IP (address) led them to determine the address,” Ketcham said. According to Ketcham, the suspect was woken up by the police placing him under arrest. Both Raborn and a female companion have been taken into custody in relation to the bank robbery. Philadelphia police are currently searching for a teenage murder suspect who managed to escape from a hospital, and is “considered dangerous,” the department announced per ABC News.

Philadelphia police are currently searching for a teenage murder suspect who managed to escape from a hospital, and is “considered dangerous,” the department announced per ABC News. The suspect, identified as 17-year-old Shane Pryor, was being held on murder charges.  Pryor fled from the emergency room parking lot of Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia on Wednesday after being brought in for a hand injury. “He was able to escape from staff and run from this area on foot,” Deputy Commissioner of Investigations Frank Venore said. Pryor is described as a Black male with a light complexion, standing at 5’7″ and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen in the University Avenue and Civic Center Boulevard area wearing blue sweatpants, a blue sweatshirt, and slides with socks. Surveillance footage showed Pryor entering and exiting buildings in the vicinity after his escape.  Authorities believe Pryor is no longer in the immediate vicinity. 6-Year-Old Girl and Her Parents Shot After Ball Rolls Into Neighbor’s Yard

Police are searching for a North Carolina man who shot a 6-year-old and her parents after their basketball rolled into his yard, reports NY Post. The suspect, Robert Louis Singletary opened fire at around 8 p.m. Tuesday in Gaston County. Witnesses told the local station that a group of kids was playing basketball when the ball accidentally rolled onto his lawn. Singletary seemingly angry according to witnesses, chased a neighbor down the street as he fired several shots, they reportedly said. Singletary then returned emptying his firearm on 6-year-old Kinsley White, and her parents Ashley Hilderbrand, and father, William White. “He looked at my husband and my daughter and told them, ‘I’m going to kill you,’” Hilderbrand told the station. In an attempt to protect his family, William reportedly drew his weapon but was struck In the back.  The family was taken to a local hospital. According to WSOC-TV, the child had to receive stitches on her face from bullet fragments. The mother was thankfully only grazed by a bullet and the two are recovering at home. The father remains in the hospital in stable condition, police said. Authorities say that Singletary is still at large. He faces charges of  “four counts of first-degree attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon,” Gaston County police said. “I want to say to the people of Gaston County — this sort of violence will not stand,” Police Chief Stephen Zill said in a statement. #Clique, what are your thoughts?
