A Tennessee man is now in police custody after pulling his friend out of her wheelchair and stealing money from her purse, Action News 5 reports.

On April 13th, deputies from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office were notified about a robbery at a Millington Inn. When they arrived, the victim explained that Dylan Landrum, a friend of hers, had come to her motel room to ask for money. When she refused, the 31-year-old pulled her out of her wheelchair by her leg, and threw her onto the floor. He then began rummaging through her purse, grabbed $30 in cash along with her I.D., and fled. The victim, who uses a wheelchair due to having one leg, was left on the floor.

A high school nurse in Kennett, Missouri is in police custody after allegedly having a sexual relationship with one of the school’s students, Ledger-Enquirer News reported.

Kennett Police Department says that Candice Elizabeth Johnson sexually assaulted the 15-year-old over 12 times over the course of four months, usually at a Super 8 motel. In an interview with the police, the teenager claims that he and the 26-year-old began meeting up for sex in October, after sending each other sexually explicit photos months beforehand. According to an affidavit obtained by The Kansas City Star, “Johnson talked about having a future together and [the student] had hung out with Johnson and her son.”

On January 26th, officials at Kennett High School interviewed the victim and other witnesses after being told that a nurse was having intimate encounters with a student. Days later, the school’s principal notified authorities. On January 31st, Johnson reached out to police by phone, but refused to turn herself in. She was found hiding at her mother’s house the next day, and Kennett Police Department officers made the arrest.

Candice Elizabeth Johnson has been charged with second-degree statutory rape and sexual contact with a student. She was later released on a $40,000 bond. Johnson has since been ordered to to avoid contact with anybody under the age of 18, and has been placed on a leave of absence.

Johnson is the second Kennett High School employee within the year to be arrested for having a sexual relationship with a student. 24-year-old Lindsey Marshall, a Spanish teacher, was arrested two weeks prior, and was charged with two counts of sexual contact with a student.

Motel Room Where Underaged Girl Was Found With Older Man Had Been Paid For By Parent

On Monday, January 9th, deputies were sent to search an Alabama motel after the Walker County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a “a concerned family member.” According to The Telegraph, the unidentified caller claimed that an underaged relative was at the motel to meet with an older man.

“During the investigation, two underage females were discovered to be in separate rooms, each one with an adult male,” the sheriff’s office reported. “It was determined that a parent of one of the underage females drove the girl to the motel, rented the room, then left the child unattended at some point.”

After learning the identities of the two men in the motel, it was discovered that they were wanted for unrelated charges. The two men, whose names have yet to be released, were then arrested and taken to the Jasper Police Department in Walker County. The parent who dropped off one of the teenaged girls and paid for the motel room was also arrested. They have been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

“This is a very heartbreaking situation, and thinking about this entire situation will make anyone physically sick- especially another parent,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement. “The amount of trauma and mental anguish that these girls have, and will endure in the future, is troubling to say the least.”
