Sexyy Red Apologizes To Martin Luther King’s Daughter Over ‘Distasteful’ Post

In a show of great humility and understanding, Sexyy Red has deleted her AI-generated post of the late Martin Luther King. She also typed a heartfelt message to the late activist’s family, asking for grace and forgiveness. Thankfully, Martin Luther King’s daughter, Dr. Bernice King, who called Sexyy Red out, extended grace to the rapper. Although some didn’t understand Bernice’s outburst over the post, several others found the interaction between the singer and the lawyer heartwarming.

Sexyy Red Apologizes For Martin Luther King Post

Sexyy Red has apologized for her post with Martin Luther King. The rapper took to her X, formerly Twitter account, to express how sorry she was to King’s daughter, Dr. Bernice King. She also shared that she didn’t mean to disrespect the memory of the man who fought for the freedom of millions.

“You ain’t wrong, never meant to disrespect your family my apologies. Just reposted something I saw that I thought was innocent”, Red wrote, adding a prayer hands emoji. She then deleted her original tweet.

Martin Luther King’s Daughter Blasts Sexyy Red

Sexyy Red joined the list of those celebrating the national holiday in honor of Martin Luther King with a picture this year. On Monday, January 20, she uploaded an AI-generated photo of the human rights activist on X, formerly Twitter. The picture showed Sexyy Red and King in a dancing pose, holding hands and with their eyes locked on each other in what seemed to be a club. The image got many responses, with several people egging Red on it as she joined the trend of editing photos with the late minister.

However, Bernice didn’t find the photo funny or respectful, so she replied to Sexyy Red’s post. She said:

“This is intentionally distasteful, dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful to my family and my father, who is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty.”

Martin Luther King’s Daughter Accepts Sexyy Red’s Apology

However, Martin Luther King’s daughter wasn’t one to hold grudges, and she accepted Sexyy Red’s apology quickly. She responded to Red’s apology on X and thanked her for it. Bernice wrote:

“Thank you for your apology, which I sincerely accept. Please know that it was not my intention that you be denigrated. I value you as a human being. I hope you understand my concerns about the image.”

The last of the activist’s children noted that she understood that her dad was now a “bit of a caricature to the world” and that many often used his image without regard to his “family, his sacrificial work, or to the tragic, unjust way in which he died (a state-sanctioned assassination).”

She also revealed that she frequently calls out such actions and asked that people be more empathetic while considering how they would feel if they were in her shoes.

“All the best to you, young lady,” Bernice concluded.

    Bernice King Blasts Troll

Numerous people found the interaction between Sexyy Red and Bernice King to be wholesome, and they praised both women for their tact and graceful attitudes. However, a naysayer tried to tag Martin King’s daughter’s action toward Sexyy Red as hypocritical, asking why Bernice called out only Sexyy Red’s flier out of many others.

“I haven’t seen you voice anything towards any of those ATL club fliers with MLK (who are actually profiting off the image) or towards others who have reposted similar memes?” they asked.

Meanwhile, the X user got shut down quickly as Bernice King cleared the air.

“Please don’t project your thoughts onto me. I don’t believe Sexyy Red to be a ‘degenerate,’ ‘ghetto,’ or ‘trash,’” King wrote. “I have spoken out in the past about the use of and comparison to either of my parents to denigrate other people. I just don’t understand this type of use of my father’s image (on #MLKDay, no less), in a way that does not convey what we know to be true about his service and sacrifice,” the lawyer replied.

Sexyy Red may have made a mistake posting an unflattering post about Martin Luther King, but her response has endeared her to many. Thankfully, the late human rights activist’s daughter was graceful, and all ended well. Hopefully, others will learn from the interaction and stop using caricatures of Martin Luther King.

Drake Under Fire After Being Filmed Seemingly In the Club With 11-Year-Old Rapper FNG King

Drake is seemingly under fire after linking up with 11-year-old upcoming rapper FNG King as seen in a short viral clip. Fans speculate the location to be a night club although it hasn’t been confirmed. The video shows the young boy proudly showing off a bunch of money after taking a picture with the Canadian rapper.

X users commented on the video with concerns. One user wrote,

    “Where is this child’s parents?”

    Another user penned,

“I bet you he wouldn’t let him play with his son.”

    While someone else wrote,

“I have questions… are those ladies in the back at the 5 second mark naked? Why is this child in this environment? Would Drake bring his own child to this same environment and would that not be equally as weird? Would Drake even introduce his child to this child? Why are some people encouraging this? Is this grooming? Wtf goin on.”

Drake isn’t the only person to link up with the 11-year-old rapper as he has been seen with Lil Baby, Finesse2Tymes, and Sexyy Red

  • Angela Rye Delivers ‘Fact-Check’ On Sexyy Red’s Comments About Black People Supporting Donald Trump, Says ‘I Would Invite You To Look Into His Record’

Angela Rye Delivers ‘Fact-Check’ On Sexyy Red’s Comments About Black People Supporting Donald Trump, Says ‘I Would Invite You To Look Into His Record’

Angela Rye has responded to Sexyy Red‘s public endorsement of Donald Trump by presenting evidence of his past actions, which she reveals were racially discriminatory. Rye is urging Black Americans who back the former president’s 2024 presidential campaign to educate themselves about his track record.

“To Sexyy Red and everyone else who’s found themselves in the camp for ‘Blacks for Trump,’ I would invite you to look into his record,”

Rye said in videos posted on X (fka Twitter).

“I would invite you to look beyond barbershop conversation, people who are just shooting a breeze — or as some people say, shooting the sh*t.”

“If that’s what you’re gonna do, let at least the sh*t be facts. Let it at least be fact-checked,”

    she added.

“Let it at least be associated with his actual record. When you look and see what Donald Trump actually accomplished for Black people, are you satisfied with that?”

Rye highlighted a number of instances where Trump has been

    “egregious”

towards the Black community. One of these instances was the case of the Central Park Five, who were later exonerated and renamed the Exonerated Five. She also mentioned Trump’s questioning of former president Barack Obama’s citizenship during his presidential campaign.

In 1989, the ex-president took out full-page newspaper ads advocating for the death penalty on five, Black teenage boys after a Central Park jogger was assaulted. Five innocent Black men, Korey Wise, 51; Kevin Richardson, 48; Raymond Santana, 49; Antron McCray, 49; and Yusef Salaam, 49, were wrongly convicted, and later exonerated. In 2019, Trump declined to apologize for his remarks.

“You have people on both sides of that,”

he said, according to The New York Times.

    “They admitted their guilt.”

    Rye also spoke about

    “Birtherism,”

which was enacted during Barack Obama’s run for presidency in 2008, spearheaded by Donald Trump which accused the 44th president of not being a natural-born citizen of the United States. Rye posted a video in response to Sexyy Red’s comments to which she mentioned that black people support Donald Trump on Theo Von’s

    “This Past Weekend”

    podcast last week.

“Yeah, they support him in the hood… Once he started getting black people out of jail and giving people their free money, oh baby we love Trump. We need to get him back in office.”

Sherri Shepherd Says She Doesn’t Plan On Inviting Sexyy Red To Her Show, Says ‘When Did Getting Money and Showing Your Booty-Hole To Dudes Become Sexy’

Sherri Shepherd made an appearance on The Breakfast Club and talked about various topics in her life. She discussed her personal life, her talk show, recovering from COVID, and even receiving a breast reduction. During the conversation, she also shared her thoughts on the differences between men and women when it comes to their sex drives.

Sherri expressed her belief that men always want to have sex, regardless of the situation. She mentioned how men would have sex when they are happy, sad, confident, or even after losing a job. She compared it to breathing, saying that it is a necessity for them. However, she clarified that women in their 20s and 30s also think about sex a lot.

During the conversation, DJ Envy later referenced Sexyy Red’s hit song Pound Town, asking Sherri,

“So, you don’t want Pound Town.”

The talk show host then said,

“No, no no no! I just heard the lyrics to that…I was like ‘What are these girls talking about nowadays?’”

She later expressed that she has no plans on inviting the rising star to her show after Chrlamagne Tha God suggested to have Sexyy Red on Daytime television. Sherri replied,

“no, no, no.. Because she’s going to be like, ‘This auntie, okay, go on old lady.’ When did just getting money and showing your booty hole to dudes become sexy? Me, I come from the school of let them imagine something. Don’t just come and show him everything…when did your booty become the emphasis now?”
