A man learned the hard way that he should give himself enough time for a job interview after being chased by officials and later apprehended for speeding. Azmir Djurkovic, 19, turned himself in to Connecticut State officials after they caught him going over 130 MPH on Interstate 91 South, per PEOPLE.
A cop saw a Mercedes E300 speeding faster than the traffic flow. The officer estimated it was going over 100 MPH, then later confirmed at about 132 MPH. The driver made unsafe lane changes, forcing the officer to stop the chase for safety. Officials later identified the driver as Azmir Djurkovic and then “made contact.”
Reports said he allegedly confessed to “driving and stated he did not stop because he was late for a job interview.”
Djurkovic met officials at Troop H in Hartford and was then arrested without any problems. He faces several charges, including reckless driving and interfering with an officer. Released on a $2,500 bond, he must appear in Middletown Superior Court on June 17. If you’re wondering, it’s unclear if he landed the job.
