A terrifying scene unfolded at a Chuck E. Cheese in South Carolina last weekend when a teenager allegedly pointed a gun at employees and customers, leaving children and parents shaken, according to Law & Crime.
Police say 19-year-old Tavares McFadden-World entered the Columbia restaurant on Saturday, aimed a gun at a worker’s head, and threatened two others. Witnesses said the incident caused panic among families enjoying their day out.
“My kids can’t sleep now,”
said a Midlands father who spoke with local station WACH.
“That’s the only time I felt like I wanted to cry because my babies, I saw pure fear in their eyes. They’ve never been in that situation before.”
The Richland County Sheriff’s Department said at least three people were threatened during the ordeal, including one who was briefly held hostage. The situation took a turn when another person inside the restaurant pulled out their own gun and pointed it at McFadden-World, prompting him to run away. As he fled, he allegedly dropped his weapon and scattered bullets on the floor.
Investigators say McFadden-World then got into a car driven by another teenager, identified as Kenzie Miller, and left the scene. Police later detained both suspects after they returned to the area.
McFadden-World is now facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, assault and battery, three counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, and tampering with evidence. Miller has been charged with obstruction of justice. Both were booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. McFadden-World’s bond was set at $75,000, while Miller’s status remains unclear.
