An 18-year-old man has died after being stabbed during a confrontation at a Walmart in Georgia, police said per WSB-TV.

The incident happened Thursday evening after the teen and a 49-year-old man got into an argument. Authorities have not released the names of either individual.

Officers with the Chatham County Police Department were called to the store around 5:50 p.m. following reports of a fight. When they arrived, they found the 18-year-old with several stab wounds and cuts. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but died from his injuries the next morning.

Investigators said the altercation began when the teenager kicked the older man’s shopping cart as he was leaving the store, sparking a confrontation.

An investigation is ongoing and detectives have interviewed the 49-year-old man and witnesses at the scene, reports note. The Chatham County Police Department said it will work with the District Attorney’s Office

“to determine any criminal charges in the case.”
