After the fatal shooting of a Georgia cab driver went cold for three years, police finally have a teenage suspect in custody.
On Monday, 19-year-old Javeon Stephens, 19, pleaded guilty to murder and other charges for the fatal shooting of 50-year-old cab driver, Paul Lokey, WSBTV reports.
At the time of the crime, Stephens was just 16 years old. He hopped in Lokey’s cab in Columbus Georgia with two others and shot Lokey from the back. Lokey lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a fire hydrant. He died later at a hospital.
Stephens entered a guilty plea on Monday ahead of jury selection. He is set to be sentenced Sept. 27.
