A Tennessee man suspected of murder thought the ceiling of a home was a good place to hide from cops – that is until the drywall caved in.

Deario Wilkerson, 20, was captured on Monday after he was on the run from the U.S. Marshals Service who suspected he was involved in the killing of 27-year-old Troy Cunningham, Law & Crime reports.

The home was located about a block away from where the shooting took place on April 2. Wilkerson climbed into an attic in the home but was tracked down by a task force of deputy marshals and Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and Memphis Police Department’s Fugitive Apprehension teams who swooped in and arrested him.

Wilkerson was cooked after he fell through the drywall ceiling and landed in the kitchen.

According to reports, three men were sought for Cunningham’s death after reportedly taking his pistol and shooting him in the back of the head as he tried to run away.

A warrant was issued Wilkerson back on May 9 accompanied by first-degree murder and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon charge.
