Texas Mom Arrested After Toddler Found in Towed Car While She Allegedly Partied at Club

Brandy Rachelle Brown (Harris County Jail)

Brandy Rachelle Brown, 29, was arrested Monday and charged with child endangerment after allegedly leaving her 3-year-old son alone in a car while she went into a Houston club to drink, according to court records reviewed by Law & Crime.

The car, which was parked illegally, was later towed—with the child still inside. A tow truck operator discovered the boy and immediately alerted authorities.

Houston Police confirmed that the boy was found unharmed, though the situation could have taken a tragic turn. “The child was left alone in a dangerous situation, and we’re fortunate this was discovered before anything worse happened,” a police spokesperson said.

Authorities stated that Brown had been inside the club for at least 30 minutes before the tow truck driver towed the vehicle and realized the child was asleep inside.

Neighbors and locals expressed shock and concern over the incident. “I can’t believe a mother would leave her child alone like that, especially to go drinking,” said a witness who wished to remain anonymous. “That little boy could have been hurt or worse.”

Brown was charged with one count of child endangerment, a felony under Texas law.

The child remains in the care of a family member.
