Texas Parents Claim Spring ISD Teachers Gave Their Children Melatonin Patches to Put Them to Sleep

(KHOU)

In a shocking incident at Spring Independent School District (Spring ISD) in Texas, parents are alleging that preschool teachers administered sleeping aids to their children without parental consent.

The controversy began when several parents reported unusual behaviors in their preschoolers, including excessive drowsiness and difficulty staying awake during class.

One parent, Jessica Martinez, told KHOU 11, “My daughter was coming home and falling asleep within minutes. She never did that before. When I asked her about it, she mentioned that her teacher gave her something to help her sleep.”

According to reports, some children have echoed similar sentiments. One young student reportedly told their parent, “I was really sleepy at school, and my teacher said it was okay to take a little something to help me rest.”

In response to the allegations, Spring ISD released a statement confirming they are investigating the situation.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our top priority,” the district said. “We take these claims very seriously and are working closely with our staff and local law enforcement to determine the facts.”

“We need to ensure that our children are safe and that no one is giving them anything without our consent,” said parent Mark Thompson. “It’s alarming that this could happen in a preschool setting.”

Spring ISD has stated that no medication should be given to students without explicit parental consent, emphasizing their commitment to transparency and student safety. The district is currently reviewing its policies and procedures regarding medication administration.
