Harris County Sheriff’s Office

In a tragic incident in northwest Harris County, #Texas, 23-year-old Tatyana Lashea Evans has been arrested and charged with the murder of her boyfriend, 28-year-old Geovanni Montague.

The incident reportedly stemmed from jealousy after Evans discovered text messages from another woman on Montague’s phone, WLBT reports.

According to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and homicide detectives responded to a call in the early hours of February 9, 2025, in the 10700 block of Barely Lane. Upon arrival, they found Montague with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez announced Evans’ arrest on February 11, stating that the motive appeared to be jealousy. “Tatyana Evans has been arrested and charged with murder, possibly stemming from jealousy,” Gonzalez said. “The victim has been identified as Geovanni Montague.”

Investigators revealed that surveillance footage captured Evans’ vehicle leaving the scene around the time gunshots were heard. During police questioning, Evans allegedly confessed to the shooting.

Montague, an Army veteran, had been working for Amazon prior to his death. Evans appeared in court on February 12, where she was reprimanded by the judge for an outburst. Her bail was set at $250,000, and her next court appearance is scheduled for April 3.
