On Sunday night, Usher Raymond took the stage at the BET Awards and let the world know he’s working to do right by his ex-wife by being a supportive co-parent.

And by the way Usher spoke on stage while accepting BET’s Lifetime Achievement Award, he’s all good.

Despite making headlines for a marriage that went awry with the mother of his two kids and ex-wife Tameka Foster, Raymond gave her a shout-out saying, “I’m trying Tameka.”

He praised Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys for how they co-parent with Swizz’ ex.

The Good Good singer also opened up about forgiveness.

“We’ve got to be willing to forgive. We’ve got to be willing to be open. I’m telling you, you’re standing before a man who had to forgive a man who never showed up ever. And look what I made with it. Look what I was able to ‘usher’ in. But that’s what’s real. That’s what makes us human. That’s what makes us women and men.”

Usher was joined at the awards by his wife Jennifer Goicoechea Raymond, mother Jonnetta Patton, sons Naviyd Raymond and Usher “Cinco” Raymond V and brother J. Lack.

He also took time to thank musical icons Babyface and L.A. Reid for their contribution to his career.

But he opted out of mentioning Diddy who had a hand in his early success as a singer.
