Police confirmed that Marlena Velez, a mom of two who often showed fans her life online, stole from a Florida Target Store. She used a fraudulent barcode to scan 16 items before exiting the building. The items totaled $225. Footage from the store helped the cops identify her and how she was in the company of a man.
According to the NY Post, he has been identified as one of the video partners who appears in her posts online. This is not the first time that this young mom has been in the police net. Velez’s first theft on November 20 was discovered after she shared her videos online.
The TikTok maven showed her thousands of followers how much merchandise she got from a Target store in Florida. These items including clothing and household goods were over 10 and they were worth around $500. The store recorded and reported the loss after sighting Valez on surveillance footage. Police shared her image online and a tipster called, claiming to be one of her followers.
With this information, the authorities identified her via online posts and spotted some of the stolen items in a video. She was immediately arrested and charged with one count of petit theft of more than $100. The TikTok influencer appears to have a knack for stealing.
According to records, she has been arrested in the past. Back in 2019, 17-year-old Marlena Velez committed grand auto theft after stealing her friend’s car. The Ida Baker high school alum had asked to sit inside her friend’s vehicle during lunch, but she drove off. Last year, Velez was detained after stealing from a Walmart store in Cape Coral.
