TikTok Reportedly Blocked Posts From “Ugly, Poor, Obese, and Disabled Users”

TikTok is in headlines yet again but this time for reportedly blocking users that look poor, ugly, obese, or disabled.

According to leaked documents obtained by The Intercept, who is an online publication known for investigations and analysis, TikTok “instructed moderators to suppress posts created by users deemed too ugly, poor or disabled for the platform.”

You may remember when we reported that #Lizzo accused TikTok of blocking her swimsuit posts because of her weight. They claimed it had nothing to do with her weight and they re-uploaded it. Coincidence?

Some videos were censored that involved military movements, natural disasters, or threatening material. Nonetheless, there were also images related to “fat” people, run-down houses, “rural poverty, slums, beer bellies and crooked smiles.” All of the images/videos were blocked and taken down.

Y’all think TikTok is playing dirty behind the scenes?
