A heavily intoxicated British passenger, 28, attempted to open an airplane door in the midst of an onboard fight in order to

“get off quicker.”

The incident occurred on an easyJet flight from London to Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernandez in southern Spain, reports the New York Post.

The unidentified man reportedly boarded the plane already intoxicated and became increasingly drunk during the flight due to the altitude. His aggressive remarks led to a fight, and when crew members intervened, he allegedly also assaulted them. The workers then to restrained him.

As the plane approached the airport in Spain, the intoxicated man mistakenly attempted to open a door. He was unaware that the plane was still

“in the air.”

The pilot notified officials upon landing, and the man was subsequently apprehended. The specific charges were not immediately known.
