Kita Rose of Tonight’s Conversations has revealed she suffered abuse on the popular streaming service centered around black people’s relationships and dating. Rose took to her social media to decry the struggles of victims who decided to speak out against their abusers. She also outlined reasons many victims chose to stay silent and the systems that enable abusers. However, the YouTuber declared that she would not be cowed and would call out her abuser regardless of the cost.

Kita Rose Explains Abuse

Kita Rose recently had a conversation with fans outside of her former position as host of Tonight’s Conversations. She tried to help fans follow and understand victims of abuse, explaining why they typically find it difficult to expose their abusers.

“After the Diddy situation, I often asked myself how people could be so inconsiderate and insensitive in the comments and ask questions on why it take so long, or how come they didn’t say this, or how come everybody wants to come out of the woodwork,” she began.

The beauty YouTuber said she would “break down abuse real quick” so that those who have never experienced it can “identify it if somebody wants to get stupid” with them, and “maybe the ones that are doing the abusing could really understand where [Rose was] coming from. So, let’s make some things clear. What are the different types of abuse? There’s financial, there’s physical, there’s sexual, there’s mental, there’s emotional, there’s verbal. There’s a lot of different types of abuse.”

Kita Rose Shares Why Victims Don’t Speak Up

Kita Rose further spelled out the reasons victims of abuse take so long to talk about their experience.

“Let’s go over some of the things the victim has to face once they’ve come out. Firstly, you’re going to be alone, so when you come out to talk about your abuse, there’s going to be a lot of people around you that love, care about, and believe your abuser,” she noted. Rose opined that those who choose to speak out would be “talked to crazy, talked about, lied to, and lied on …because they are disrupting a cycle.”

Rose of Tonight’s Conversations also shared an example that captured an average family’s response to sexual abuse. She stated that it was hard to speak up because people who love the abuser would have to choose between enabling them and believing the victim. Additionally, she explained that some victims fear losing everything they “hold dear” because the abuser controls all. And in addition to being called liars or sued, their abusers could also play the victim.

“The burden falls on the one who talks,” Rose said.

Kita Rose Vows To Fight Her Abuser

During the lengthy breakdown with fans, Kita Rose revealed that many victims also enable abusers by keeping silent after one person spoke up.

“Everybody around you that had the same opinion, that had the same experience, gets the same feelings about the said person, said abuser, you’ll see them cower down. You’ll see them shut the f**k up,” she lamented.

Rose noted that this allowed abusers to label the brave victims as anything, including “jealous, bitter, broke, and money-hungry,” to redeem their image.

Kita Rose, the former Tonight’s Conversations show host, said in her case, she was tagged with a mental illness. However, she charged victims not to stay silent.

“You don’t get any reward for shutting up,” Rose asserted.

She noted that abusers would only continue to abuse others until someone broke the silence because they bought people.

“My abuser says that everybody has a price,” the media personality said before adding that she was ready to “confront” her abuser.

Kita Rose has been candid about her struggles on Tonight’s Conversations. However, the YouTuber is now ready to expose the abuse she faced as a host on the podcast. Hopefully, her rant will help others be more empathetic towards victims and spark conversations about enabling abuse.
