Tourists were forced to witness a shooting incident involving a yet-to-be-identified Mexican man at the Mexico Beach Resort. The unsavory event occurred on October 2, 2024. Two armed men moved in on the deceased at the beach near Riu Caribe Hotel. Even though it was a bright afternoon with onlookers, the killers finished their business. Then they reportedly escaped via jet skis.

30-Year-Old Man Left Dead After Shooting Incident In Mexico

As to why the young man was killed, authorities say they have no answer yet. Amid the situation on the beach, emergency services responded in time. But unfortunately, the victim was already dead. Riviera Maya News reports that immediately after the crime, law enforcement sealed up the area to begin investigations. Marina boats were dispersed to track the killers on water. The Riu Caribe hotel has established that they do not know the victim. While speaking to a news outlet, a representative said the deceased did not lodge in the hotel.

Additionally, the hotel emphasized that the victim of the shooting incident at the Mexico Beach Resort wasn’t a staff either. This brings to mind the warning the US State Department sent in September 2024. The authorities had blacklisted some destinations in Mexico because of the rising crimes and abductions. The other crimes included robbery, carjacking, and as recently reported, homicide.

Back in May, authorities confirmed that some male tourists fell victim to the crimes in Mexico. The men, siblings, Jake and Callum Robinson, and a friend, Jack Carter Rhoad were killed. Their bodies were discovered a few weeks after their disappearance. Investigations suggest that their deaths were caused by a carjacking incident. Three individuals have been arrested over suspicion of their involvement.
