According to the Queens District Attorney’s Office, two individuals have been charged with stealing and reselling online tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. The duo allegedly made over $600,000.

Tyrone Rose, 20, of Kingston, Jamaica, and Shamara Simmons, 31, of Queens, New York, were arrested on charges including grand larceny, conspiracy, and computer tampering. Authorities say the tickets were stolen from StubHub by two individuals working for a third-party contractor in Jamaica.

Per NBC News, the stolen ticket URLs were sent to Queens, where Simmons and another person, now deceased, allegedly downloaded and resold them on StubHub. Prosecutors estimate that about 993 tickets across 350 orders were affected. While most were for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the scheme also included tickets to Adele and Ed Sheeran concerts. Also includes NBA games and the U.S. Open Tennis Championships.

Rose is accused of redirecting ticket URLs in Jamaica, while Simmons and her late associate allegedly handled resale operations in Queens between June 2022 and July 2023. The stolen tickets were valued at approximately $635,000.

StubHub discovered and reported the fraud to authorities, including the third-party vendor and Jamaican law enforcement. The company stated it has refunded or replaced affected tickets and strengthened its security measures.

Additionally, it has cut ties with the vendor involved. Rose and Simmons were arraigned in New York on Thursday, facing multiple felony charges. Attempts to reach their attorneys for comment were unsuccessful.
