Via FlightAware website, JetBlue Airlines confirmed that Flight 1801 flew from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York. On Monday around 11:10 pm, it landed in Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport. As expected, a few hours after landing, a post-flight inspection commenced. However, the cleanup led officials to two dead bodies.

Per CNN, an unknown source tipped the Broward County Sheriff’s Office about the discovery. The person claimed that a gate technician in the landing area was the first to see the two male bodies. The official then signaled to others, confirming that the men were Signal 7. This is a code word law enforcement uses to describe a dead person.

Following the alert, paramedics were immediately dispatched to the site— and that was when the men were declared dead. Carey Codd, a rep for the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, revealed that there’s an ongoing autopsy. This will help to prove the cause of their deaths and possibly make their identities known.

For now, the authorities stated that these bodies had already decomposed. Despite the ongoing investigation, the airport where the JetBlue airplane landed is still functioning. The Broward County Aviation Department has assured that nothing has changed in the mode of operation.
