A cruel and unnecessary act reportedly caused by two babysitters now has them in police custody and facing murder charges.

#DijonSmith, 34, and #KiyaMoore, 21, were arrested last Saturday and charged after the death of a 1-year-old girl they were watching suffered massive head trauma.

On Thursday, Smith and Moore started babysitting baby Kali Moore around 5 p.m. Thursday, according to an affidavit, Law & Crime reports.

The girl was taken to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital around 3 a.m. Saturday after baby Kali went into cardiac arrest and died an hour later. Memphis police officers responded to the report and were told the baby girl suffered multiple skull and neck fractures and had “massive bruising” on her back, the probable cause arrest affidavit states.

Kiya Moore is not the child’s mother but is related.

Smith and Moore went back and forth blaming one another over the child’s death.

Smith reportedly said, “He heard Moore slam Kali into the floor, walls and wooden furniture six to 10 times,” cops wrote. “He advised that he asked her what she was doing and she stated nothing but Kali was crying too much and getting on her nerves. He advised that when he entered the room Moore stopped and he observed Kali unresponsive.”

On the other hand, Moore said she left Kali with Smith and went she returned the baby girl was “unresponsive.”

She then said Smith refused to tell her what occurred and instead urged her to lie, saying the baby fell off the bed and hit her head on a nightstand.

#Clique, they both need nice, crisp orange jumpsuits. Rest in peace Baby Kali.
