During a recent appearance in a Vermont court, the jury convicted Joseph Ferlazzo for the vicious crime that happened in October 2021. NBC Boston reported that the alleged killer had pleaded not guilty back in 2021. However, at the time of his arrest, the police claimed that Ferlazzo had indeed murdered his unsuspecting wife.

He chose to do it away from home—during a getaway to celebrate their first anniversary. According to the police affidavit, the estranged man confessed to killing his wife inside a camper van. After ending her life with a firearm, Ferlazzo dismembered her body with a handsaw. This was to aid easy disposal of the body parts, as he stored them in trash bags.

While searching the camper vehicle which had been converted to a living space, investigators discovered body parts in eight bags. Joseph Ferlazzo later admitted that he had killed his wife in self-defense, per WCAX. This was after lying about her whereabouts—he claimed that the deceased stormed out after a fight. But after many hours of not seeing their daughter, despite her husband’s return, Schwarz’s family reported her missing.

In court, the suspect revealed that he remembered cutting into her leg with a knife, but after the first cut, he went blank. While addressing the court, the killer blatantly admitted that killing made him sick.

Following Ferlazzo’s Recent conviction to stand trial, Schwarz’s mom, Adrienne Bass commended the justice system. She believed that her daughter had gotten adequate justice. The grieving mom continues to remember her child’s bright smiles and future hopes that would never come true.
