In a recent series of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids across South #Florida, a #Miami man is pleading with President #Trump to allow his wife, #Vianis Ramirez, to remain in the #UnitedStates after she was deported to Venezuela.
The man, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed his distress in an interview with CBS News Miami.
“It’s despicable what they’re doing right now,” he said. “It’s very embarrassing.”
He revealed that his wife, a Venezuelan national who had lived in the U.S. for several years, was in the process of obtaining U.S. citizenship and had an upcoming court date. Despite this, ICE agents apprehended her during a raid in Miami’s Brownsville neighborhood. “They just came and they snatched her,” he recounted.
The couple was approaching their 11th wedding anniversary. In a direct appeal to President Trump, the man stated, “If I get a chance to talk to you, man — please, man — let’s work something out. Let me keep my wife here in the United States. She deserves to be here.”
These raids are part of a broader initiative by the Trump administration to intensify the deportation of undocumented migrants. On a single day, ICE reported detaining nearly 1,000 individuals nationwide, a significant increase from the previous day’s count of just under 300 detentions.
