We Will Soon Need a Special I.D to Travel Throughout the USA

Starting this upcoming September, all citizens will be required to have new “real I.D” in order to travel throughout the United States.

Similar to how we need a passport in order to travel to other countries, we will now need a new I.D to travel state-to-state. Our driver’s licenses will have a special star on it to show we have a “real I.D.”

According to the DHS, the purpose of the REAL ID Act “is to make our identity documents more consistent and secure.” The deadline to have the new I.D is October 1st, 2020.
