The Maricopa County Medical Examiner has confirmed that Denise Prudhomme, a 60-year-old Wells Fargo employee, died from “sudden cardiac death in the setting of myocardial fibrosis,” WLBT reports.
Prudhomme’s body was discovered at her desk in a Tempe, Arizona, office four days after she last clocked in, sparking concern about workplace protocols and employee well-being at the bank.
Prudhomme had reportedly clocked in on a Friday morning, but she was found unresponsive the following Tuesday. Tempe police have confirmed that no foul play is suspected. The incident has raised questions about safety checks in workplaces, especially in large office environments where many employees work remotely or in isolated cubicles.
Some Wells Fargo employees expressed frustration anonymously, highlighting that the delay in discovering Prudhomme’s body points to a lack of sufficient health and wellness checks for employees working on-site, especially those in isolated workspaces.
In response, Wells Fargo has stated its commitment to supporting employees’ well-being and has initiated an internal review of its safety protocols. The company also offered counseling services for Prudhomme’s colleagues and shared condolences with her family, describing the incident as deeply saddening.#Clique, check on your introvert friends.
