Wendy Williams has linked her frozen Wells Fargo accounts to her son, Kevin Hunter Jr. She blamed him for causing her to be placed under conservatorship after he exploited her financially. Williams disclosed this during an interview with TMZ‘s Harvey Levin. Williams noted that her son was a good person, but she could have avoided all her present troubles if he hadn’t mismanaged her money.

Wendy Williams Blames Son For Frozen Accounts

While speaking with Harvey Levin, Wendy Williams revealed that her son, Hunter, caused her accounts to be frozen. The talk show host discussed her situation over the phone with Levin and Mark Geragos from her New York City Facility on the 2 Angry Men podcast.

“My son, he overstepped his boundaries in terms of me. He overstepped his boundaries, and he was inappropriately using my money without telling me crap about it,” she said as she claimed Hunter exploited her financially.

She added during the conversation posted on YouTube on Wednesday, February 12, that her son took money from her without her knowledge. She said:

“Like, is he stealing from me? Look, all I know is that, in terms of what I’m dealing with, this is still going on because that’s when my money got frozen at Wells Fargo, thank God. No more money stealing from my son and the other people.”

Wendy Williams Says Her Son Is A ‘Good’ Man

Although Hunter was the main culprit leading to her conservatorship, Wendy Williams said he was still a “good person.” During the interview, which was part of the TMZ Presents: Saving Wendy documentary, The Wendy Williams Show host said she believes her confinement stemmed from Hunter’s financial exploitation.

“It’s about my money. It’s about holding my money and using it for other people and nothing for me. It’s about paying for this, paying for that,” she said.

However, Wendy Williams deferred that her son has a good heart despite getting her accounts frozen.

“My son is a really good person,” she stated. “Look, my son is a good person. But at this point, he is a horrible person to me. The way he moves with other people, and what’s going on with these other people in my apartment in Miami. ‘What are you doing? Oh, you spent on what? What is going on at Wells Fargo?'” the 60-year-old media personality asked.

Wendy Williams Says Her Son Didn’t Work Alone

During their conversation, Levin asked how Hunter mismanaged her money. The broadcaster replied, stating that her son told her he received $113,000 instead of $1,500 when he asked Wells Fargo for money to rent a boat for his birthday. Wendy Williams said Hunter’s action triggered Wells Fargo’s attention, leading to her frozen accounts. She was placed under conservatorship in 2022. This was after her bank froze her accounts and asked the court to protect them following some suspicious activity.

In another part of the Saving Wendy documentary, Levin spoke with Ginalisa Monterroso, founder of Connect Care Advisory, about the media personality’s situation. Monterroso explained that Wendy Williams’ accounts were frozen because the bank noticed “large withdrawals being taken out.” Meanwhile, Williams believed her son didn’t act alone.

“He has a way of getting with a couple of other people. My son is not the only one involved with my money,” she said.

However, Hunter has denied the claims, per TMZ.

Wendy Williams Wants To Be Free

While talking with Levin, Wendy Williams expressed her desire to be free from her court-ordered guardianship despite her concern that her son had frozen her accounts.

“Looking at you behind that window, which is the only way I can communicate with you now, it feels like you’re screaming for help,” the interview host told Williams.

When he asked her if she was allowed to go out, she replied:

“No. In the last 30 days I went out twice.”

Levin responded, saying, “This sounds more like a prison than independence.” In response, Williams told him:

“I want my life back. I want my freedom back.”

Wendy Williams has had enough trouble in her life. It is understandable why she would be hurt if her claims about Hunter getting her accounts frozen were true.
