A New Jersey woman, Jaclyn Diiorio, has been arrested for allegedly attempting to arrange a double murder through a dating app, targeting her ex-boyfriend, a Philadelphia police officer, and his teenage daughter, according to NBC Philadelphia.
The 26-year-old was taken into custody after authorities uncovered her alleged murder-for-hire scheme. Prosecutors say she offered $12,000 to a man she believed was a hitman, but who turned out to be a confidential informant. The two initially connected through the dating app Tinder and later met in person at a Wawa on March 31.
From March 31 to April 3, Diiorio exchanged texts and phone calls with the informant. She reportedly expressed her intent to have her 53-year-old ex and his 19-year-old daughter killed. She revealed that her former partner was a police officer, prosecutors said.
On April 3, the informant reported the plan to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. The following day, Diiorio met the informant again at a Dollar General store, where she allegedly gave him $500 as a down payment. She was immediately arrested by Gloucester Township police. Authorities also found an unlabeled bottle of suspected alprazolam in her possession.
Diiorio now faces two counts of first-degree attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and drug possession. She is being held at Camden County Correctional Facility, with a court appearance scheduled for April 9.
According to the affidavit, Diiorio and her ex met when she was his barber. Their relationship ended on March 6. A past restraining order and a 2022 Molotov cocktail incident are also under investigation.
