A woman has been charged with attempted murder after police in Memphis say she fired shots at a family following an argument in the Oak Court Mall parking lot, per WREG.
The incident occurred on Sunday. Memphis Police responded to a shooting at the intersection of Oak Court Drive and Southern Avenue. A male victim reported that he was driving his black 2019 Dodge Durango, accompanied by a woman in the front passenger seat and his young daughter in the back.
He stated that he and other family members were in two separate vehicles. As they exited the Oak Court Mall parking lot, they were shot at multiple times by the suspect. No one was injured during the incident.
The man told investigators that he and his family had gotten into a verbal argument with the unknown woman in the south parking lot of Oak Court Mall before the shooting occurred. The victim reported that his vehicle was hit once on the driver’s side fuel door. He identified the alleged shooter as an unknown woman driving a white GMC Yukon XL, who then fled south on Oak Court Drive toward Southern Avenue.
The suspect had been following them as they left the parking lot prior to firing the shots, reports reveal. The victim described the suspect as approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall with a medium build. Police later identified the shooter as Denise Norris, 38. She was arrested for attempted second-degree murder related to the incident. Norris is being held on $30,000 bond.
