A woman in West Virginia was charged after being discovered at a drug house in Webster County while caring for four young children. Officials discovered drugs in a car seat where an infant was sitting, per WBOY.
On Aug. 19, West Virginia State Police were dispatched to a Camden residence to check on Cynidel Hardin, 27. An unnamed caller reported she was a drug user, parked at a known drug house for the majority of the day while having four children under age five in her care.
Officials mentioned that the 27-year-old
“did have possession of all four children for the entire day”
and she was
“presumed to be driving under the influence of heroin”
while the children were present, reports say.
When police responded to the call, they noticed the running vehicle parked in the driveway with the young children inside. Reports mentioned the children were alone inside the vehicle and officials made note that
“two of the children were screaming and crying due to not knowing where”
Hardin went. Troopers added that one of the children was
“holding an open pocket knife.”
While troopers were present, Hardin fled the home. A relative arrived to take the children, and officers discovered a zip bag with drug paraphernalia and suspected heroin in a car seat. Hardin faces four charges of child neglect and is held in Central Regional Jail.
