Federal officials have reported that a 28-year-old woman, Antoinette Gilmore, from Washington, D.C., has been found guilty of kidnapping her roommate. Back in Oct. 2023, Gilmore got into a heated disagreement over the phone with the man and allegedly arranged to pick him up with her cousin to retrieve his belongings, per the Miami Herald.
According to officials, after the man entered the car, Gilmore instructed her cousin to physically assault him while she drove. The victim attempted to exit the vehicle; however, the doors were locked. Despite managing to escape briefly, Gilmore instructed her cousin to pursue and grab him, eventually dragging him back to the vehicle.
According to officials, when they arrived at their destination, the victim was forcibly removed from the vehicle but luckily, managed to escape. He promptly fled to the closest police substation to report the attack.
The woman’s sentencing has been scheduled for July.
