Atlanta Police Department

A woman from Georgia is facing several charges after reportedly hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene, only to crash into a truck moments later. 30-year-old Portia Taylor was apprehended on June 11 for homicide by vehicle, hit and run causing death, and DUI related to the May 18 death of 71-year-old Michael Crabtree, PEOPLE reported.

Atlanta authorities says Taylor was speeding in a 2013 Nissan Altima around 6:26 a.m. after leaving her job at a strip club. She reportedly hit Michael Crabtree, who was crossing the road about 10 feet from the crosswalk, and then fled the scene without stopping. Sadly, Crabtree died at the scene.

Police reported that the accident was recorded on street and patrol car cameras. Just minutes later, at 6:35 a.m., Taylor was involved in another hit-and-run on Interstate 75. Cobb County police later arrested her, charging her with DUI, possession of marijuana, and having an open container. Crabtree, known as TC, was in Atlanta for work, reports mentioned.
