Usher recently experienced another surprising moment when a woman at his concert refused for him to feed her a cherry.
She told the R&B crooner, “No, I’m a child of God,” when he offered her the cherry. However, she took one from the bowl and ate it. Meanwhile, she tore off the stem from the cherry before popping it in her mouth, causing Usher to react mischievously. He took the stem and made a show of eating an imaginary cherry, which caused the crowd to erupt.
Usher Fed Sabrina Carpenter A Cherry
Usher has fed cherries to countless women, including famous ones—Keke Palmer, Tiny, Halle Bailey, and Rubi Rose—at his concerts. Sabrina Carpenter joined the list of those he fed during the Met Gala on May 5. The moment became hilarious after the Espresso singer shared her dad’s reaction to Usher feeding her a cherry. Sabrina’s dad, David Carpenter, sent her a message with a picture of Usher feeding her and wrote, “? Weird.”
The singer explained the reason in a February interview on TheJenniferHudsonShow. He revealed that he invented it to connect with fans and began with strawberries in Las Vegas. Usher began the fruit segment during his Past Present Future Tour in 2024 before switching to cherries at his concerts.
“I just figured we just try all the fruits until we figure out which one works the best. But cherries were something that I felt was fun and just kind of active. It was a bit erotic,” Usher said. He added, “It’s just fun activation and, I mean, that’s what R&B is all about—being connected and making people feel something.
Fans React To Woman Who Refused Usher’s Cherry At Concert
Fans have mostly hailed the woman who turned down Usher’s offer to feed her a cherry at his concert. They praised her for her discipline and encouraged more women to emulate her. It appears Usher’s concept of giving fans a cherry at his concerts is here to stay. The singer has said he doesn’t want to break any homes, so hopefully, those in danger of that will take a cue from the woman who refused to be fed.
