Trial for Kiena Dawes’ death has resumed with prosecutors blaming Ryan Wellings, her boyfriend. Although the deceased took her own life, she left a note directing authorities to domestic abuse from her partner.

Prosecutors have presented Kiena Dawes’ last words as evidence to the juror to convict Ryan Wellings for her death as the trial begins. The 23-year-old put down a note on her phone before jumping in front of a moving train on July 11, 2022.

However, she blamed it on the suffering during her romance with Wellings. According to her note, she highlighted her boyfriend as her killer. On top of that, his ex-partner, Kayleigh Anderson was also mentioned.

Per DailyMail, in the same note, Kiena Dawes tried to look out for her child. She prayed that the world would keep her safe, adding that her absence wasn’t entirely her fault. Dawes didn’t forget to mention her family whom she revealed had her love.

In court, the prosecutors argued that Dawes suffered mental health issues but Wellings triggered her. Paul Greaney, KC, emphasized that Wellings was aware of her condition, yet he exploited her. The prosecutors cited domestic and emotional abuse while supporting it with evidence.

They referenced the beginning of the romance when Kiena Dawes lived with Ryan Wellings near his ex-partner. However, she soon moved out to live with a friend. On numerous occasions, the deceased complained about harsh treatment.

In the text exchange, the accused often pleaded with her. Meanwhile, he continued the assault while placating her with gifts. Amid the claims, the jury has been advised to act on the facts and not emotions. For now, Wellings denies domestic abuse as the trial continues.
