She may be Spiderman’s girlfriend onscreen and offscreen, yet Zendaya is the least person ready for fame. This unbelievably honest celebrity tells reporters that handling fame isn’t her thing. Despite being in the spotlight for more than four years, she has yet to adapt. This might not be far from the truth as the actress confessed to being an introvert.

Zendaya’s Ascension To Fame

Like many successful stories, it all began from a young age. Before getting recognized, the actress worked as a child model. Zendaya worked with Macy’s, Old Navy, and Mervyn’s brands. Before reaching 10, she was already a part of a hip-hop group and joined in local theater productions. One of her first memorable gigs was working as a backup dancer for Selena Gomez in a Sears Commercial. A few years later, Zendaya showed off her dancing chops in Disney’s “Shake It Off.” Next up, she starred in “KC Undercover. However, the most notable role was in “Euphoria,” where she became a fan favorite playing Rue Bennett.

Following her time on “Euphoria,” she made history as the youngest actress to win an Emmy twice. The first was won in 2021 and 2022 respectively— all for playing Bennett. This fueled her drive for success as she continued to act, sing, and even write. Zendaya has an album to her name, a book, and a list of box-office films. One of her on-screen appearances that fans will not forget is MJ. In MCU’s 2019 Spiderman, she plays Tom Holland’s onscreen beau. Turns out, the duo soon start to date in real life.

Zendaya On The Pressures Of Fame

While being accosted by reporter Erik Davis at Dune: Part Two New York’s screening, Zendaya revealed:

“I feel like, often, I am not cut out for that part of it … I don’t necessarily know if I want or can handle all of that… and I don’t know if that’s for me. I do love my job, I’m so grateful… but I am terrified of that part of it, often.”

Interestingly, the Dune star prefers not to be treated as a celebrity, as her first status is being human. This yearning to be ordinary stems from the fact that she grew up as a shy kid. Zendaya, who preferred not to be seen as a child, turned to fashion. In a surprising twist of fate, her interest in fashion gave her a big break in the modeling world.

Zendaya Keeping It Simple With Tom Holland

This neediness for a regular life is well implemented in Zendaya’s everyday life. A few days before her interview with fame, the actress spent alone time with her beau. She and Holland fly to Cornwall, a small town in the UK. For them, this was the perfect getaway. It offered them some freedom from their celeb lifestyle.

Reportedly the couple strolled into the Ramshackle Rosie cafeteria and engaged with the owner, undetected. The owner, Helen Woodward, even asked them to move to a smaller table. Helen confessed she did not know the celebs as they behaved like regular couples. Despite getting to know their celebrity status, Helen acted respectfully and refrained from bothering them.

Final Note

For one, Zendaya walks the talk. She knows how to control her reality to enjoy life privately and as a non-celeb. The actress is always in control of the narrative she shares with the public even down to her online posts. Thus leaving her with a scandal-free life or as she calls it, being seen as a human first!
