Burleigh County Sheriffs Office/ Suspect Alvin Ducheneaux

A couple in North Dakota woke up in the middle of the night to loud noises and discovered a naked man causing chaos in their daughter’s bedroom. The male homeowner later held the intruder at gunpoint while his wife called the police. The suspect, identified as Alvin Ducheneaux, claimed he was there to collect clothes for himself, but the homeowners believed he had entered the wrong house, reports the New York Post.

The couple explained to the police that they heard the commotion downstairs and found Ducheneaux throwing toys and clothes around their daughter’s empty room. He had entered through an unlocked back door while the family was asleep. The homeowners estimated that he caused around $200 in damages, including breaking a shoe rack. Ducheneaux appeared to be extremely intoxicated at the time.

Ducheneaux was arrested and charged with burglary, criminal mischief, and disorderly conduct. He is currently in jail with a $5,000 cash bond and his court date is set for November. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison for the felony charge.
