A woman, Damaris Milton,44, who carried a knife was arrested after stabbing three people, which included a police officer and an airport ticket clerk at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, per FOX 5 Atlanta. The incident occurred in the south terminal on Wednesday afternoon. The police were notified around 4:45 p.m. that the woman was near the west crossover outside the security checkpoint. Prior to moving into the south terminal, she had already stabbed a man in that area, said Atlanta officials.

“So, when we did encounter her, there had already been that stabbing that occurred,”

Sgt. John Chafee said.

When the police discovered the woman, they were aware of the previous stabbing. They attempted to communicate with her to convince her to drop the knife. Surrounding her, they tried to arrest her. However, during the arrest, she attacked another woman and an APD lieutenant, stabbing them.

All three victims received medical attention and were swiftly taken to Grady Memorial Hospital. The third victim, an airport ticket clerk, was grazed by the blade. Another officer managed to tackle the woman and successfully apprehended her.

The unnamed woman did not sustain any injuries and was taken to the airport precinct. The police are currently investigating the motive behind the stabbings. Charges will be filed once the investigators have gathered sufficient information. Although certain areas were cordoned off, the security checkpoint at the airport remained open. The airport authorities confirmed that there were no overall flight delays due to the incident, although some individual flights may have been affected.
